March 1, 2018: Aeromexico recently received its first Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

In 2012, Aeromexico had placed orders for 90 MAX airplanes, including the MAX 8 and the larger MAX 9 variant. The two models will offer the airline the flexibility to fly between 160 and 190 passengers.

According to Aeromexico, it plans to use the fuel-efficient and long range MAX jets to expand its network across the Americas.

“We are proud to be one of the first airlines in Latin America to operate this aircraft, which will allow us to provide operational efficiencies, and help us translate benefits for our clients, in terms of on-board experience and options to reach their destination,” said Andrés Conesa, CEO of Aeromexico.

Aeromexico, the largest airline in Mexico, operates one of the most technologically-advanced fleets in the region. It’s a leading operator of the 787 Dreamliner.

“We are honored to expand our partnership with Aeromexico, and we welcome them to the 737 MAX family,” said Ricardo Cavero, vice president, Latin America sales of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

“The 737 MAX will provide Aeroméxico with unmatched reliability, fuel efficiency and a premium on-board experience for its passengers,” said Cavero.

The 737 MAX family is designed to offer customers with exceptional performance, lower per-seat cost and an extended range that will open up new destinations in the single-aisle market.

The 737 MAX incorporates the latest CFM International LEAP-1B engines, advanced technology winglets, Boeing Sky Interior, large flight deck displays, besides other features to deliver the highest efficiency, reliability and passenger comfort in the single-aisle market.

The 737 MAX is the fastest-selling airplane in the history of Boeing, accumulating more than 4,300 orders from 93 customers worldwide.
