May 09, 2017: Frankfurt-Hahn Airport has recorded significant growth in air cargo traffic during the first months of this year. From January to March 2017, Frankfurt-Hahn Airport has handled 23,700 tons of cargo, a rise of 41 percent compared to the first three months of last year. Both the existing customers as well as new clients have contributed to this positive development.

“We had an excellent start to the year, but of course we are constantly willing to improve. Our Airport offers strong benefits for freight customers from all over the world,” ” said John Kohlsaat, sales director, Frankfurt-Hahn Airport.

Frankfurt-Hahn Airport is well known for its permission for night operation; a fast and highly qualified ground handling clubbed with short distances from cargo hangars to airport apron. The airport offers a high degree of flexibility including facilities to handle all kinds of special shipments. Whether it´s outsized turbines or race cars: the airport handles with ease. Recently, the airport has trained its staff for the challenges of live animal transport.

“We seek to expand this business segment. The demand is high, and we would like to offer our clients maximum quality. Therefore it is of high importance to training staff by the IATA Live Animals Regulation and the EC Council Regulation. This year, Frankfurt-Hahn Airport has successfully handled horse transports. The best, e.g., Is the export of 85 horses on a B747 aircraft,” pointed out Roger Scheifele, Senior Vice President Cargo Sales & Business Development, Frankfurt-Hahn Airport.
