Aug 25, 2016: Moscow Domodedovo Airport has been awarded the ISAGO certification confirming compliance of the airport’s ground handling procedures with safety standards set by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
The certification will be valid until June 4, 2018.
Importantly, in 2012, Domodedovo became the first Russian airport to have passed the IATA’s audit in all the ground handling areas.
According to the rules of the audit, the check on compliance with the international standards is carried out by an ISAGO Pool Member airline.
This time Domodedovo was audited by highly qualified specialists from British Airways.
IATA rules suggest that the airport single handedly chooses sections of the standard to be checked. Having demonstrated a systemic approach to safety and quality of ground handling operations, Moscow Domodedovo Airport selected a comprehensive assessment of the ground handling system on all the components of the ISAGO standard: organisation and management (ORM); load control (LOD); passenger and baggage handling (PA?); aircraft handling and loading (HDL); aircraft ground movement (AGM) and cargo and mail handling (CGM).
ISAGO certification acknowledges the high level of handling services provided by Domodedovo Airport.
