Dr. S. S. Sidhu

Dr. S. S. Sidhu was born on 13 October 1929. He holds advanced degrees in Economics and Public Administration and a Doctorate of Philosophy. Dr. Sidhu joined the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1952 and held several important positions in his distinguished career. He has served the Indian Aviation industry in various capacities. He was Chairman of the Indian national carrier Air India and Indian Airlines. He served as Secretary to Government of India in the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation. Dr. Sidhu was the Secretary General of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) from 1988 to 1991. He has been occupying the high office of the Governor of Manipur, a federal state in the Union of India, .from 2004. He has authored several books. Presently he is the Governor of Indian State of Manipur & Meghalaya.
